The GOP a slow distant into insanity
Greetings, politics has always been full of drama, suspense and intrigue and those of us who pay attention to politics are used to some truly bizarre things. That said, I can say with confidence that I have never seen a political organization destroy itself the way the GOP has! The Republican Party is in such a state of chaos, they are not even capable of Basic day-to-day business. Since Donald Trump became party leader, the Republicans have been unable to win or govern and even keep control of their caucus, it is truly bizarre and horrifying. The sad part is, the GOP will never be in this position if it were not for the actions of a small group of lunatics led by Donald Trump! Donald Trump says that the MAGA faction represents 99% of the Republican Party. Unfortunately for Donald Trump, the reality is very different from the MAGA faction only represents the most conservative members of the Republican Party, who are solidly in the minority. Donald Trump treats the Republican Party as if it is his own personal praying, this approach has resulted in serious and irreparable damage to the reputation of the Republican Party. Under George W. Bush, the Republican Party put forward serious policies and attempted to govern the country seriously, by contrast, the Republican Party under Trump does not care about policy or governing the country. Their only focus is political theatrics and gamesmanship. The GOP has made a clear choice, for better or worse, they have decided to embrace a proven liar in the hopes of electoral success. As a consequence, conservatism in America has suffered greatly gone the art of the days of rational reasonable policy differences these have been replaced by the tactics of an authoritarian narcissist who has no concept of or regard for the normal standards of American politics. Not so long ago, the Republican Party ostracized people like Donald Trump and dismissed them as radical and unrepresentative of conservatism. Things are very different from a few short years ago. The Republican Party has been declining for a number of years now, from my perspective it's not hard to see why I believe that Donald Trump has single-handedly plunged the Republican Party into decline. Let's look at the facts since 2016, the GOP has lost every successive election and performed well below their own expectations! Put another way, embracing Donald Trump equals chaos and electoral oblivion, he truly is masterminding the death of the GOP. To be blunt, if the GOP continues and its present trajectory, the party may split into two or collapse entirely, Donald Trump's stranglehold on the Republican Party is inflating so much damage to the GOP then it may not recover. I feel bad for GOP voters who are loyal to their party but against Donald Trump. I imagine they must feel that they are no longer welcome within their own rings for the sake of the Republican Party and the political process as a whole. I sincerely hope the GOP can find a way to sever ties with Donald Trump before it's too late. If not, the situation Will only get worse, and that's not good for the Republican Party or democracy as a whole! Personally, I very much doubt that the Republican Party Will exist in its current form by the end of the decade, however, in politics anything can happen, and we will have to wait and see how the situation evolves.
