The GOP Civil War

The Republican Party is in a very precarious position! On one hand, the most recent former president has just been arraigned on criminal charges! On the other hand, they're struggling to find a competent leader to replace him. The question is what to do now? Personally, I think this is an absolute disaster for the GOP, and it is unlike anything the party has ever dealt with before. Not even Watergate is an appropriate comparison, this is simply uncharted territory! My next statement might be hard to imagine, but I believe things are going to get worse for the GOP my reasoning is as follows I believe that we're not only going to have a contested primary which may or may not permanently fracture the party in addition to that, I think the party is ready to split in the two! I foresee a future within five years, give or take, where The GOP will split off into two parties. The larger of these two parties will be for the more moderate and traditional sinner right Republicans, while the second smaller party will inevitably be dominated by the hard right when any cost Republicans we have all come to know and hate! Put simply, These two factions cannot coexist for much longer, the tension is at a breaking point! Frankly, I think this will be a good thing. The mainstream Republicans will be unburdened, and they were no longer have to deal with their extremist counterparts. On the other hand, the extremists can destroy themselves as much as they like and nobody will really care! Let there be no misunderstanding, this will be painful for the Republican Party, and it will inevitably lead to some painful election losses! Let me be clear, it is my belief that we have done this to ourselves, and it is not undeserved by any stretch of the imagination. This is simply part of the price you pay when you experiment with extremism! At some point, we will pay the price and I believe that our bill is past due! As a member of the GOP, I can tell you That I feel extremely disappointed and indeed betrayed, this is not the party I signed up to be a part of! I joined the GOP To participate in developing serious policy for the benefit of the people we're supposed to serve, not to be a part of some bizarre and self-destructive circuits! When people ask me whether I'm proud to be a part of the GOP, my answer Is absolutely not! Put simply, my values have not changed, but my parties have I don't recognize the GOP I joined as a 17-year-old If I knew then what I know now I can confidently say that I never would have done so! In many ways, I feel lied to. I honestly thought That the GOP Believed in putting country before party and people before politics. Clearly, this isn't true. I can only hope that one day it will be true again, And I believe it will! For right now, dark days are Ahead and the Republican Party must face them if not well either split into two or cease to exist altogether! One thing is for sure, it will be interesting To see what happens.
